About the Event
This 2-day programme will enable you to explore your own leadership practices by thinking firstly about who you are and how you lead within the context and complexity of the NHS. We will then explore how you lead others focusing on communication, relationship management and facilitation. There will be opportunity to apply your learning to practice using action learning and coaching as a method.
Learning Outcomes:
Day 1 – Leading Self
- Reflecting on leadership practices within NHS
- Understanding Action Centred Leadership – balancing needs and expectations of individuals and teams
- Exploring your own leadership using the Self-assessment (7 Practices of Leadership)
- Understanding the impact of collective leadership in the NHS
- Action Learning Set relating to our own leadership challenges
Day 2 – Leading Others
- Leading others using the right intervention
- Coaching skills for having challenging and difficult conversations around performance, awareness and responsibility
- Dealing with conflict and difficult people
- Exploring the dynamics of teams at work
- Understanding the concept of psychological safety and belonging to lead well in the NHS
- Coaching session in pairs relating to leading others effectively in the NHS
